Damon graduated from university in 2002 with Bachelor (Honours) degree in Physiotherapy. He initially worked in Hong Kong before moving permanently to Melbourne in 2006. Damon is currently completing the final year of his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy (La Trobe University).
Damon has special interests in shoulder, groin, knee and tendon injuries. Damon has experience in treating professional footballers in Europe for sports injuries/rehabilitation such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction.
He is also very experienced in treating neck and back pain both in acute (developed within 6 weeks) and chronic (more than 3-6 months) situations. Damon is able to explain to you the reasons behind your pain and show you the path to recovery.
Damon also works part-time at the Pain Clinic of the Royal Melbourne Hospital alongside pain specialists. He believes exercise rehabilitation, gradual return to meaningful activity and patient education play a major role in inspiring patients to wellness.
Damon is the official team Physio for NPL soccer team Avondale FC U20. He has also worked with Point Cook Jets (2015) and Truganina Hornets (2016). He enjoys being a soccer team sports physio and has successfully completed a sports master placement with the Royal Dutch football association (KNVB) in 2016. He has learned from Dutch national team Physios such as Kim Blewanus and Raymond Meijer (http://www.knvb.nl/campus/sportmedisch-centrum/over-het-smc/sportartsen-en-fysiotherapeuten).
Damon also speaks fluent Cantonese, Mandarin and Hokkien.
Outside physiotherapy, Damon enjoys hiking, going to the gym, Tai Chi, basketball, soccer, travelling, photography and spending time with his family and dog.
