Video physio consult – Telehealth

Telehealth – your online Physio now available

Need to see your Physio but unable to get into the practice?

We now have an alternative! We have launched Telehealth, an online Physio service to provide Physiotherapy consultations over video.

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is a live video-conferencing technology which enables a client to have a secure private video consult with their chosen Physio. Even before the impact of COVID-19, there has been a growing consumer demand for access to video-consultation services provided by physiotherapists. There is now evidence that shows video consultations are cost effective, safe and well-received by patients – especially
by those living in rural and remote areas, or who have other forms of access issues due to age or disability.

Consultations

Our doors are still open and we are providing hands on therapy, but if you can’t come to us, we can come to you through Telehealth. This will allow you to continue treatment with your Physio and stay on the road to recovery – with movement being as important as ever!

How Does It Work?

To access this service, you will simply need a computer or smart device with an internet connection and camera. Simply choose the time that you need and make a booking. We send you an email with a button to simply press at your booked time and start your video consultation with your preferred Physio. Within this session, your physio will take a comprehensive history relating to your problem,
assess your movement and together formulate a plan to solve your problem. Your physio will
empower you through knowledge so that you can understand the cause of your problem and guide you through your home exercises.

Should you require any small pieces of equipment for example a theraband, spikey ball or roller, we can send this via post or you or a loved one can swing by the clinic for a fast pick up.

Our goal is to keep you pain free and enjoying life through movement.

How To Book:

  1. Simply contact the clinic or better yet, book ONLINE via our website www.pointcookphysio.com or via our face book page

ensure a smooth consultation.

More Information

Payments are enabled online for private consultations. You can call the clinic to process your payment via phone. You can then process your claim online with your health insurance provider.

Unfortunately, not all private health insurers provide a rebate for physiotherapy services currently delivered via video consultation, but this is likely to change with growing pressure especially in response to COVID-19. Workcover, TAC and EPC (Medicare sessions) are also covering Telehealth. For new clients you will need to have a referral from your doctor to access this service. We will send the bill
to the appropriate company directly if you have given us the necessary documentation.
